Spirit Merchants

We have two specialty wine stores, featuring products from British Columbia wineries and the best of the imported beverage products.  Owners Paul, Ian and Mary Hadfield founded the Vic West Spirit Merchants in 2004. In a few short weeks we have established the store as the best for service, both locally on Vancouver Island and provincially through our full service eCommerce website. Virtually every product available at Spirit Merchants is now available to purchase online. We're also constantly expanding to offer specialty and hard-to-find products like Petrus (Bordeaux), Grange (Australia), Tignanello (Italy) and more.

Spinnakers has just opened their second liquor store in James Bay at 425 Simcoe Street.  This new spirit merchant store is attached to Spinnakers very own Sips Artisan Bistro.

Sips artisan bistro is an opportunity to experience some of the unique offerings of British Columbia's wine regions paired with artisan meats, cheeses, island grown poultry and west coast seafood.

Our blackboard food pairing menu features a rotating selection of locally produced artisan charcuiterie, artisan cheeses, locally smoked and preserved poultry, seafood and vegetables as well as a selection of North American craft beers and Belgian ales.

An ongoing series of formal tastings will be conducted by our resident beer aficionados, wine gurus and sommeliers.
